About Us
Urban Construction Designs focuses on hand sculpted jewelry styles, inspired by the rock & roll lifestyle and punk aesthetic. Styles range from pretty in punk to floral and
feminine. Urban Construction was started with the goal to create one-of-a-kind pieces,
using recycled materials as much as possible. While not all items are made from recycled materials, vintage/recycled materials are used whenever inspiration strikes. All of the packing materials used to ship orders come from recycled materials.
Urban Construction was actually started as a school project during one of the designer's
Fashion Merchandising classes. The term project was to come up with a concept for a
line, design the styles, and create the concept for the company as a whole. Designer
Alicia Fraser was living in Hollywood at the time, and was inspired by all of the renovations the city was undergoing. She knew that she wanted to take salvaged vintage pieces to help make an effort to reduce the huge amount of textile waste each year. Alicia loved the way that the city was taking the old Hollywood that had become run down and neglected over the years, and turning it into a new glimmering city with a hip new style. From she came up with the name Urban Construction and the company concept.
Many items in the Urban Construction line are made from recycled or repurposed items. All of the clothing is made from salvaged vintage clothing that may have otherwise gone
to a landfill. The vintage clothes are then revamped and reconstructed into interesting
new styles. There are bracelets and necklaces made out of items such as bits of
hardware, bottle caps, and recycled vinyl records.
While the original focus of the company was clothing, the designer wants the main focus
of our company to be the jewelry. The majority of the jewelry is the polymer clay
sculpted jewelry. All of the pieces are hand-sculpted, baked, sanded, buffed, and finished with a high gloss glaze finish. There are necklaces, pendants, bracelets, earrings, and even key chains. Each piece is completely unique since they are sculpted individually.
Some of the standout jewelry styles include genuine Swarovski crystal outlined heart
pendants, animal print pendants, and the signature style - the Chained Heart.
New styles are added constantly, and any of the polymer clay styles can be custom made in any color requested. In addition to the repurposed items and polymer clay styles, there are also beautiful beaded necklaces, chokers, bracelets, and earrings. Many of the beaded necklaces feature unusual designs and large “chunky” shimmering glass beads. Every item in the Urban Construction collection is truly a piece of wearable art.

About the Designer
Designer Alicia Fraser began designing clothing and jewelry at a very young
age. She comes from a large family of artists, and her father taught her how to
sew when she was very young. Her maternal grandfather taught her about
working with polymer clay, which sparked her interest in jewelry making. She
is self taught in jewelry making, and did a lot of research as a pre-teen on
jewelry making techniques. This was when the internet and online forums were
just starting, so there wasn't nearly the wealth of information out there like
there is today.
Alicia started college with a pre-med emphasis and majoring in biomedical
engineering. After a few years of stifled creativity, she made the switch to go to
fashion school and study fashion merchandising. She currently lives and works
in Southern California, and sculpts each piece by hand herself. Much of her free
time is spent going to local punk shows, where most of her inspiration is
sparked.

Company Policies
PENDANTS
All pendants come on a sterling silver plated chain, in your choice of either 18" or 24". If no message to seller is sent at checkout with a requested length, 18" chain will be sent. Longer or shorter lengths can be custom made upon request for an additional fee.
All styles are described as accurately as possible. Each style is handmade, and many styles have more than one piece available. As such, slight variations from the images shown may occur. This enhances the artistic value of each piece, and should not be considered as a defect.
All pendant styles have size dimensions listed in item description.
DAMAGES/DEFECTIVE
If a product is defective we will exchange it for a like item. Damage/Defective claims must be made within 7-10 days of receiving your order; all sales are final thereafter. If items are received damaged, please notify us immediately. We will do our best to resolve any issues. If an exchange is made for a defective item, no additional shipping will be charged.
RETURNS
YOU MUST CONTACT US PRIOR TO RETURNING ANY ITEM(S). Returns will be accepted only if the products are received back in unused and new condition. All requests for returns must be submitted within 7-10 days of delivery, and with an explanation for the reason you wish to return the item. Products must be returned within 21 days of delivery. Please contact us before returning.
SHIPPING DAMAGES
We pack our products with the utmost care, however, we are not responsible for damages caused by shipping carriers. If you have a shipping damage-claim, please contact the shipping center and us as soon as possible. We will do what is reasonable to assist you with your claim. These damages are not entitled to a refund, return, or exchange.

All orders are shipped via USPS with delivery confirmation.
